Township of Grosse Ile, Wayne County, MI is soliciting applications for the position of DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICES DIRECTOR. This position involves the management of the daily operations of the Township’s sanitary sewer collection system, water distribution system, building facility maintenance, contractual management of refuse collection and sanitary treatment, liaison with Wayne County for road/drainage maintenance and improvements, and the community development and building divisions. Daily interaction with the public. Responsible for the implementation of policy as set forth by the Township Board under the general direction of the Manager’s Office with oversight and coordination by the DPS Commission. State of Michigan S-2 (Water) Operator license required or an ability to obtain at one. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, Public Administration, or related field with preference given to candidates with Master level degrees, Certified Engineering, and/or prior experience in related field as manager or supervisor of personnel engaged in public work activities. Five or more years of related supervisory experience required. Salary range: DOQ.
